→ Sobre os missionários ←
- Estadia no Brasil - Ainda estamos em nosso amado país. Tem sido uma imensa alegria poder compartilhar pessoalmente para nossos parceiros e amigos aquilo que Deus tem feito em Lyon por meio da Mission Jeepp. Nestes dois meses por aqui percorremos mais de 5000 quilômetros para encontrar os amados irmãos e irmãs que nos sustentam financeiramente e oração. Também pudemos desfrutar de um tempo muito bom de descanso com nossas famílias em Santa Catarina e no Rio Grande do Sul e ainda tivemos o privilégio de poder celebrar o casamento da irmã e cunhado do Mateus. Durante este tempo também participamos de alguns eventos importantes que nos ajudam a nos preparamos para os desafios do ministério, como o Encontro de Lideranças e o Encontro de Obreiros do Movimento Encontrão e a conferência do Centro de Treinamento para Plantadores de Igrejas (CTPI). Partiremos de Curitiba de volta para Lyon no dia 2 de setembro e chegaremos em casa no início da noite do dia 3.
Queremos aproveitar para agradecer pelo grande acolhimento que recebemos por onde passamos. Nos sentimos abençoados e isto nos ajudou muito a não sofrer tanto pelo fato de andar de um lado para outro com nossas malas por mais de 2 meses. Este tempo nos revigorou e nos animou para recomeçarmos o trabalho em Lyon. Muito obrigado!

Chegada dos novos intercambistas: No dia 31/08 chegarão em Lyon Gabriel Klein, de Novo Hamburgo/RS e Kevin Pergher, de Porto Alegre/RS. Eles participarão do intercâmbio U-Crew proposto pelo Movimento Encontrão em parceria com a Sociedade Missionária Norueguesa (NMS), e trabalharão meio período na Mission Jeepp e o outro meio período eles trabalharão em comunidades da Igreja Protestante Unida da França na região de Lyon. Gabriel e Kevin partiram do Brasil no dia 20 de agosto e estão na Noruega para um período de preparação antes de chegarem à França.

Nossas atividades começarão gradativamente a partir do início mês de setembro:
1. Grupo A Plus - Universitários e Jovens Profissionais - Para o início de nossas atividades estamos preparando uma grande festa no dia 23 de setembro. Contaremos com a presença de uma delegação de 19 noruegueses que trabalham na NMS e que vêm para conhecer o trabalho que desenvolvemos em Lyon. Prevemos para este dia também contar com uma banda de música formada por jovens das paróquias de Lyon, com boa comida e propor um belo tempo de integração.
2. Permanências nas tardes de segundas e quartas-feiras - Para o próximo ano letivo, pelo menos no primeiro semestre, prevemos fazer as permanências 2 vezes por semana, reservando as terças-feiras para o discipulado e acompanhamento espiritual dos jovens. Durante o primeiro semestre os intercambistas brasileiros estarão bem envolvidos com seu curso de francês e como temos as atividades a noite não queremos sobrecarrega-los com esta responsabilidade já de início.
3. Encontros na Casa de Estudantes St Bernard - Como compartilhamos em nosso informativo de junho, para este próximo ano letivo começaremos o projeto Maison d’Unité na casa de estudantes, com universitários de diferentes confissões cristãs. Os encontros também acontecerão nas terças-feiras a noite e os outros responsáveis por este trabalho começarão encontrando estes estudantes a partir do dia 3 de setembro. O lançamento oficial das atividades acontecerá durante um retiro no fim de semana nos dias 14 e 15 de setembro na comunidade monástica de Taizé, e a primeira terça-feira neste novo formato acontecerá no dia 17.
Mas, para podermos lançar o projeto nos moldes que idealizamos precisamos de pelo menos 5 pessoas interessadas até o dia 15 de setembro (o ideal seriam 8). Temos notícias que até o momento temos 3 jovens inscritos.
4. Cultos da Missão Jeepp nas paróquias de Lyon - Continuaremos celebrando os cultos com os jovens do Grupo A Plus como no ano anterior. Para o próximo ano letivo privilegiaremos as comunidades onde ainda não realizamos um culto e o primeiro está agendado para o dia 24 de novembro na Comunidade do Leste Lyonnais.

→ About the missionaries ←
- Our stay in Brazil - We're still into our beloved country, it has been a great joy be able to share personally to our partners and friends what God has been doing in Lyon through Mission Jeepp. In the last two months we travelled plus of 5000 kilometers to meet our dear brothers and sisters that support us financially and also in prayers. We had the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing moment with our families in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul and had the privilege of celebrating the wedding ceremony between Mateus' sister and his brother in law. During this time, we also participated into serial different important events that helped and prepared us for the ministry challenges, as the Leadership Gathering and the Ministers Gathering, both ran by Movimento Encontrão and a conference ran by the Training Center for Church Plantaing (CTPI). We'll leave Curitiba directly to Lyon on September 2nd and we expect be at home in the begging of the evening of the following day.
We want to use this opportunity to thank enormously the lovely welcomes that we received in each place we have been. We felt blessed and that helped us a lot in all the challenge during more than 2 months of trips inside Brazil. This time restored us and gave the energy we needed in order continue our job in Lyon. Thank you so much!

Arrival of the new Exchange students: In August 31st we're going to welcome in Lyon, Gabriel Klein from Novo Hamburgo/RS and Kevin Pergher from Porto Alegre/RS. They will take part into the U-Crew exchange program proposed by Movimento Encontrão - ME/Brazil and the Norwegian Mission Society - NMS/Norway. They will develop a full time work in Lyon and region split between Mission Jeep and 2 parishes of the United Protestant Church of France. Kevin and Gabriel have left Brazil on August 20th and are now both in Norway having a preparation time before the arrival in French territory.

Our activities will start gradually after the beginning of September:
1. A Plus Group - University students and young professionals - We're just now preparing a great party for the begging of the activities on September 23rd. We're going to receive also a special delegation constituted of 19 Norwegian people who work for NMS that are coming to see a bit more of the work that we're developing in Lyon. We expect also a presentation of a local band formed by young church members of Lyon, also with good food in order to propose this unique moment of conviviality.
2. Permanences on Monday and Wednesday afternoons - For the coming year, at least in the first semester, we expect to realize the permanences twice a week, reserving Tuesdays exclusively for discipleship and spiritual follow up with the youth. During the first semester the exchange students will be deeply involved in their French course and in the evening activities, so they will not take this responsibility at least initially in order to avoid being overwhelmed.
3. Gatherings at St Bernard Student Home - As we have shared into our newsletter in June, this next year we're going to start the project Maison d'Unité on the student home, with college students from different Christian backgrounds and confessions. These gatherings will also occur all Tuesday evening and other responsible people for this work are going to begin these activities on September 3rd. The official beginning of all the activities will happen during a special weekend at Taizé monastic community between September 14th and 15th, and the first Tuesday following this new concept will take place on September 17th.
But, in order to run activity we strongly need at least 5 interested people (the ideal would be 8), the registration deadline is September 15th and until this moment we only have 3 registrations.
4. Services in the local parishes of Lyon - We'll keep celebrating the worship services with the youth from A Plus Group as we did last year. For the coming year we'll privilege the congregations which haven’t had the chance to welcome a Mission Jeepp service yet and the first one will take place on the East Lyon parish.
