Em junho de 2021 a comunidade do leste de Lyon publicou uma matéria em seu jornal mensal sobre o trabalho da Mission Jeepp, falando um pouco sobre a realidade dos jovens e convidando as comunidades a se engajarem na missão, auxiliando de alguma forma no acolhimento dessas pessoas.

Ecos da Mission JEEPP

Ao ler essas falas, Mariana e Mateus, anfitriões da Mission Jeepp, estarão no avião que os levará de volta para Brasil ... por umas merecidas férias! Eles vão voltar em seguida, para encerrar sua missão (dezembro de 2022).

O que aconteceu durante este ano letivo? As medidas sanitárias impuseram os encontros vídeo, é claro, as diferentes medidas e máscaras, como em todos os lugares. Vários estudantes estrangeiros até tiveram que voltar para seus países. Mas, apesar dessas dificuldades, o ano foi rico. Alguns destaques: a participação em cultos de diferentes tradições cristãs. Ou ainda a animação de cultos para o Consistório de Lyon. Dentre outras reuniões presenciais, a última, em 22 de junho, encerrará o ano em torno de um churrasco. Enquanto no dia 6 de junho ficará gravado na memória dos 50 jovens presentes: o dia foi dedicado a eles (na Igreja Luterana), seguido piquenique no parque Tête d'Or. No dia anterior, os adolescentes se encontraram em grupos para refletir sobre o tema da esperança e para a escolha um objeto que a simbolizasse. Suas reflexões e seus objetos foram apresentados no culto no domingo (uma máscara ou copos para alguns, velas para outros).

P: A missão JEEPP, o que ela muda para estes jovens?
Mariana: Ela mostra que eles têm um lugar na Igreja. É um lugar próprio, um lugar onde eles podem se relacionar e viver sua fé com sua sensibilidade específica.

P: Do que eles precisam?

Mateus: Os jovens esperam reconhecimento. Que saibam que eles têm um lugar na sua paróquia. E um

convite: para se envolverem mais.

Mariana: Através dos cultos que organizamos, eles descobriram que são capazes de servir à Igreja, na condução do culto, no louvor ou na escola dominical, por exemplo. Então, por que não convidá-los para se envolverem na preparação dos cultos várias vezes por ano? É importante que eles possam dar testemunho de sua fé.

P: Que planos você tem para o início do próxio ano letivo?
Mateus: Nosso foco é treinar jovens para a organização das atividades, com relação ao secularismo e ao testemunho público. E então nós gostaríamos que as paróquias convidassem os jovens a se responsabilizarem por algumas atividades.

→ Durante o ano (principalmente no final de junho), jovens chegando em Lyon têm dificuldades em encontrar alojamento. A Missão JEEPP propõe colocá-los em contato com membros das comunidades que possam providenciar aluguel em um quarto ou em um apartamento.

In June 2021 the East Lyon congregation published an article in their monthly newspaper about the work of Mission Jeepp, talking a little about the reality of young people and inviting communities to engage in mission, helping in some way to welcome these people.

Echoes from Mission JEEPP

Upon reading these lines, Mariana and Mateus, Mission Jeepp hosts, will be on the plane that will take them back to Brazil... for a well-deserved vacation! They will then return to finish their mission (December 2022).

What happened during this school year? Sanitary measures imposed the video meetings, of course, the different measures and masks, as everywhere. Several foreign students even had to return to their countries. But despite these difficulties, the year was rich. Some highlights: participation in services from different Christian traditions. Or the animation of services for the Consistory of Lyon. Among other face-to-face meetings, the one on June 22th, will end the year around a barbecue. While the 6th of June will be engraved in the memory of the 50 young people present: the day was dedicated to them (in the Lutheran Church), followed by a picnic in the Tête d'Or park. The day before, the teenagers met in groups to reflect on the theme of hope and to choose an object that would symbolize it. Their reflections and objects were presented at the Sunday service (a mask or glasses for some, candles for others).

Q: Mission Jeepp, what does it change for these young people?

Mariana: It shows that they have a place in the Church. It's a place of their own, a place where they can relate and live their faith with their specific sensitivity.

Q: What do they need?

Mateus: Young people expect recognition. Let them know they have a place in your parish. It is also an

invitation: to get more involved.

Mariana: Through the services we organize, they discovered that they are able to serve the Church, leading the service, worshiping or at Sunday school, for example. So why not invite them to get involved in preparing the services several times a year? It is important for them to be able to bear witness of their faith.

Q: What plans do you have for the start of the next school year?

Mateus: Our focus is to train young people on the animation of activities, on secularism, on public witness. And then we would like that parishes summon young people to take their places... ”

→ During the year (especially at the end of June), young people arriving in Lyon have difficulties to find accommodation. Mission Jeepp proposes to put them in contact with community members who can arrange rent on a room or an apartment.
