Bonjour queridos amigos e parceiros,
A missão em Lyon está a todo vapor, e demos alguns passos importantes nos meses de março e abril. Abaixo seguem algumas atividades que destacamos para compartilhar com vocês:

▪ Dia 04/03 tivemos o privilégio de conhecer pessoalmente a nova pastora presidente da Igreja Protestante Unida da França, Emmanuelle Seyboldt – ela esteve presente no culto conjunto com a Igreja Anglicana em Lyon.
▪ Dia 11/03 fizemos o culto da juventude juntos com os jovens participantes do acampamento Bíblia e Ski em fevereiro. Nós, juntos com a pastora Vera, fomos os responsáveis por organizar o culto e mobilizar os jovens a participarem. Eles se engajaram com alegria tanto na preparação quanto na sua realização. O culto foi inteiramente feito por eles: liturgia, orações, louvor e pregação. Foi uma benção!
▪ No dia 15/03 tivemos nossa primeira reunião com o que chamamos de “Comitê de Pilotagem” – um grupo formado por representantes da Igreja Protestante da França a nível nacional, da NMS França e algumas pessoas das igrejas locais de Lyon. Esta reunião aconteceu para fazermos uma primeira avaliação dos 6 meses de projeto que estamos aqui e também para já acertarmos algumas direções para o futuro. Podemos dizer que tudo está caminhando muito bem e, inclusive, temos nos surpreendido positivamente com alguns resultados (ex. o crescimento rápido do grupo de estudantes e jovens profissionais).
▪ No dia 17/03 apresentamos ao grupo de acompanhamento nosso projeto prático para o próximo ano letivo que começa em setembro de 2018 e que foi totalmente aprovado. O projeto visa continuar com todas as atividades regulares que já desenvolvemos (citadas abaixo) e ainda montar um espaço café e um espaço de trabalho colaborativo para acolher os estudantes. Além disso, teremos uma permanência no local para aconselhamento, conversas, jogos, etc. Também temos a intenção de oferecer aos estudantes cursos de francês e inglês gratuitos.
O nome escolhido para o projeto é “Missão JEEPP” (Jovens, Estudantes e Profissionais Protestantes). Agora precisamos decidir com o grupo de acompanhamento o local a ser utilizado para a missão (nossa preferência é pelo prédio da igreja luterana, o qual não é utilizado durante a semana), verificar as questões jurídicas e práticas para funcionamento do café em uma igreja e também preparar todo o material para a divulgação.
▪ Entre 12-15/04 participamos da Conferência da rede de comunidades da NMS na Europa – foi uma boa oportunidade para encontrar pastores e missionários que trabalham ou já trabalharam em contextos como o nosso e também foi um tempo muito rico para compartilhar experiências e desafios da missão. Além disso, pudemos reencontrar vários amigos.
Atividades desenvolvidas regularmente em março e abril :
→ Groupe Etudiants et Jeunes Pros de Lyon
● Reconhecemos a graça de Deus com relação às proposições de trabalho que temos feito para o grupo de estudantes e jovens profissionais. Após aumentarmos em janeiro a frequência dos encontros de 2 vezes por mês para reuniões semanais, o número de participantes já aumentou (éramos 5 pessoas quando chegamos e agora somos 16). Além disso, e o mais importante, o grupo está começando a compreender o seu propósito e a sua missão.
● Dois “eventos” marcantes nas últimas semanas:
1. Celebramos dia 08/04 um culto com a ajuda dos jovens do grupo em uma das comunidades de Lyon que está sem pastor este ano. Recebemos vários retornos positivos, principalmente dos jovens que nos ajudaram, os quais ficaram extremamente contentes com a oportunidade que tiveram (infelizmente por aqui não há muitos jovens engajados nos cultos).
2. No dia 10/04 fizemos a reunião do grupo de estudantes e jovens profissionais na nossa casa, com um jantar que tinha como tema a culinária brasileira: fizemos feijoada e ainda ensinamos os jovens a fazerem farofa. Contamos com a ajuda de uma senhora da comunidade onde moramos – ela se chama Mônica e já morou no Brasil. A noite foi um tremendo sucesso! Quindim e mousse de maracujá fecharam a noite com chave de ouro. Além da comida, tivemos um tempo de louvor e oração e um tempo de compartilhar, no qual os jovens que participaram ativamente do culto do dia 08/04 falaram que servir no culto foi o cumprimento de algo maior.
→ Alpha Campus no Foyer Catholique St Bernard
● Começamos no dia 08/03 o Curso Alpha Campus em uma casa de estudantes (Foyer) católica e temos em média 5 estudantes que participam com regularidade e mais alguns outros que participam dos encontros de forma pontual. Tem sido um tempo muito interessante de discussão e de aprofundamento na fé cristã, além de discussões sobre religião em geral, pois um dos participantes vem de tradição hindu.
● No dia 07/04 fizemos com os participantes do Alpha um passa-dia com piquenique na beira do rio, para falarmos sobre o Espírito Santo. Foi um tempo super precioso na presença de Deus. Este trabalho desenvolvido no Foyer tem nos motivado bastante! Mesmo que não sejamos numerosos, os jovens que participam estão bem interessados a todas as propostas que fazemos e estão super engajados para que mais estudantes participem. Além disso, estão dispostos a ter um relacionamento sincero com Cristo. Glória a Deus por isso!
→ Surpresa do mês: A Sociedade Missionária Norueguesa seguirá enviando estagiários à Lyon, mas para o período 2018-2019 receberemos estagiários brasileiros, os quais nos auxiliarão na missão com universitários.

The mission in Lyon is at full throttle, and we took some important steps in March and April. Here are some of the activities we have highlighted to share with you:
→ Activities in March and April 2018 ←
▪ On March 4th we had the privilege of personally meeting the new president pastor of the Protestant Church United of France, Emmanuelle Seyboldt - she attended the joint service with the Anglican Church in Lyon.
▪ On March 11th we celebrated the youth service together with the young participants of the Bible and Ski Camp in February. Together with Pastor Vera, we were responsible for organizing the service and mobilizing the youth to participate in. They engaged with joy in both preparation and carrying out the service. And everything was prepared by them: liturgy, prayers, praise and preaching. It was a blessing!
▪ On March 15th we had our first meeting with what we call the "Piloting Committee" - a group formed by representatives of the Protestant Church of France at national level, NMS France and some people of the local churches of Lyon. This meeting happened to make the first evaluation of the 6 months of project that we are here and also to set some directions for the future. We can say that everything is going very well and even surprised us with some results (eg the growth of the group of students and young professionals).
▪ On March 17th we presented to the follow-up group our practical project for the next school year that begins in September 2018 and it was fully approved. The project aims to continue with all activities (mentioned below) and also to set up a coffee space and a collaborative workspace approach to welcoming students. In addition, we will have an on-site stay for counseling, conversations, games, etc. We also intend to offer students free French and English courses. The name chosen for the project is "Mission JEEPP" (Protestant Young People, Students and Professionals). Now we need to decide with the follow-up group on the location to be used for the mission (our preference is for the Lutheran Church building, which is not used during the week), to check the legal and practical matters in the church and also prepare all the material for the advertisement.
▪ Between April 12th-15th we attended the NMS Congregation Network Conference in Europe - it was a good opportunity to meet pastors and missionaries who work or have already worked in such contexts and it was also a very rich time to share experiences and challenges of the mission. Besides that, we were able to meet several friends.
Activities developed regularly in March and April:
→ University Students and Young Professionals
● We acknowledge the grace of God in relation to the work propositions we made for the group of students and young professionals. After increasing in January the frequency of meetings from 2 times a month for weekly meetings, the number of participants also increased (we were 5 people when we arrived in Lyon and now we are 16). In addition, and most importantly, the group is beginning to understand its purpose and its mission.
● Two striking "events" on the recent weeks:
1. We celebrated on April 8th a worship service with the help of the group in one of the congregations in Lyon that is without pastor this year. We received several positive returns, especially from the young people who helped us, who were extremely pleased with the opportunity they had (unfortunately there are not many young people here engaged in serving in the worship services).
2. On April 10th, we hosted the group of students and young professionals in our home, with a dinner which had the theme of Brazilian cuisine: we made "feijoada" and still taught people to make "farofa". We had the help of a lady from the congregation where we live - she is Monica and she lived in Brazil in the past. The evening was a tremendous success! "Quindim" and "passion fruit mousse" closed the evening with the golden key. In addition to the food, we had a time of praise and prayer and a time of sharing, in which people who participated actively in the worship service on April 8th said that to serve in the service was the fulfillment of something greater.

● On March 8th we started the Alpha Campus Course in the Catholic student house and we had an average of 5 students who participated regularly and a few others who participated in specific meetings. It was a very interesting time of discussion and deepening of the Christian faith, in addition to discussions about religion in general, since one of the participants comes from Hindu tradition.
● On April 7th we made a picnic together at the river, to talk about the Holy Spirit. It was a precious time in the presence of God. This work developed at the student house motivated us a lot! Even if we are not many, the people who participated were very interested in all the proposals we made and were very engaged to get more students involved. In addition, they were willing to have a sincere relationship with Christ. Glory to God for that!
→ Surprise of the month: The Norwegian Mission Society will continue to send interns to Lyon, but for the period 2018-2019 we will receive Brazilian trainees, who will help us in the mission with the university students.
