Entre outubro de 2015 e outubro de 2016, Mariana e Mateus foram estagiários na paróquia da Igreja Protestante Unida, na cidade de Nantes, no oeste da França. Então, quando iniciamos o projeto em Lyon, fomos convidados pela paróquia em Nantes para escrever um pequeno texto sobre nossa nova missão para o jornal paroquial "Le Lien Fraternel". O Projeto Missão Universitária em Lyon, com Mariana Erhardt e Mateus Fonseca Pereira
Mariana e Mateus, nossos amigos brasileiros que foram assistentes paroquiais em Nantes entre 2015 e 2016, chegaram a Lyon no final de setembro de 2017, com uma missão diferente na França: ir de encontro aos estudantes e jovens profissionais em um projeto do grupo de paróquias da EPUdF (Igreja Protestante Unida da França) na região de Lyon, em parceria com a missão luterana Missão Zero do Brasil e a Sociedade Missionária Norueguesa.
O objetivo deste projeto é iniciar um trabalho para o público de 18 a 35 anos, que o EPUdF alcança com dificuldade. Muitas vezes longe de casa e até do próprio país, eles podem, transformados pela descoberta do Evangelho, tornarem-se agentes de mudança e "missionários" em suas vidas profissionais. E por que focar nessa população? Porque os estudantes são futuros líderes, professores, empresários, pais e agentes de mudança. A ideia da EPUdF em Lyon é que esta fase de implementação, que acontecerá por um período de 3 a 5 anos, demonstrará a viabilidade e a importância de criar a dinâmica para a Missão Universitária Protestante em Lyon.
Na primeira etapa, Mateus e Mariana começaram a visitar as paróquias do consistório e alguns campi ou faculdades, porque é muito importante entender a vida da igreja local e as realidades do mundo universitário francês. E agora eles já estão envolvidos em diferentes atividades:
• Ajudam na animação de alguns cultos e outras atividades paroquiais;
• Eles estão envolvidos no Grupo de Estudantes e Jovens Profissionais nas noites de segunda-feira, o único grupo protestante para este grupo etário entre as paróquias de Lyon. Os encontros reúnem até quinze jovens com cada reunião uma ou duas novas pessoas;
• Eles também estão envolvidos no Curso Alpha Campus com amigos anglicanos e católicos na Universidade Católica (UCly) e na casa de estudantes católica Saint Bernard.
Para desenvolver esta presença protestante em um ambiente universitário, Mariana e Mateus planejam desenvolver outras formas de receber estudantes, como permanências, um café associativo e cultos estudantis. Os missionários vêem a importância desta missão em fornecer apoio pessoal e espiritual aos estudantes, criando um espaço onde os estudantes possam viver sua fé e permitir que eles testemunhem sua fé na universidade e sirvam em suas paróquias.

Between October 2015 and October 2016 Mariana and Mateus were interns at the parish of the United Protestant Church in the city of Nantes, in the west of France. So, as we started the project in Lyon, we were invited by the parish in Nantes to write a short text about our new mission for their parish newspaper, "Le Lien Fraternel". The University Mission Project in Lyon, with Mariana Erhardt and Mateus Fonseca Pereira
Mariana and Mateus, our Brazilian friends who were parish assistants in Nantes between 2015 and 2016, arrived in Lyon at the end of September 2017, with a different mission in France: to meet students and young professionals in an project of the group of parishes of EPUdF in the Lyon region, in a partnership with the Lutheran Mission Zero from Brazil and the Norwegian Mission Society.
The objective of this project is to initiate a work towards the public from 18 to 35 years, which the EPUdF reaches with difficulty. Often far from home and even from their own country, they may, transformed by the discovery of the Gospel, become agents of change and "missionaries" in their active lives. And why to target at this population? Because students are future leaders, teachers, entrepreneurs, parents, and agents of change. The idea of the EPUdF in Lyon is that this implementation phase, which will happen over a period of 3 to 5 years, will demonstrate the interest and importance of creating the dynamic of the Protestant University Mission in Lyon.
At the first step, Mateus and Mariana started to visit the parishes of the consistory and some campuses or faculties, because it is very important to understand the local church life and the realities of the French university world. And right now they are already involved in different activities:
• They help in the animation of some worship services and other parish activities;
• They are involved in the Group of Students and Young Professionals on Monday evenings, the only Protestant group for this age group among the parishes of Lyon. The meetings bring together up to fifteen young people with each meeting one or two new people;
• They are also involved in the Alpha Campus Course with Anglican and Catholic friends at the Catholic University (UCly) and St Bernard Catholic Home.
In order to develop this Protestant presence in a university environment, Mariana and Mateus plan to develop other forms of welcoming students, such as permanences, an associative café and student worship services. The missionaries see the importance of this mission in providing personal and spiritual support to students, creating a space where students can live their faith and allow them to witness their faith in the university and serve in their parishes.
